MUNNABHAI AND MENTOR CROSS SWORDS?

 

  One hears Munnabhai (Sanjay Dutt) and his mentor Vidhu Vinod Chopra reportedly had a powwow of sorts. These two have been thick as thieves with Sanju having been a part of Vinod’s Mission Kashmir... etc. One also knows that when Shah Rukh Khan refused Munnabhai MBBS, it was Vidhu who requested Sanjay to step in and become the endearing character. So one doesn’t know whether one should give this rumour any credence. But the grapevine says that Vinod is supposedly not keen to have Sanju continue as Munnabhai and he would much rather have a younger actor play the same character. Incidentally, Raj Kumar Hirani is keen to have Sanju playing Munna and Arshad Warsi playing Circuit. And it is being suggested that Vidhu and Sanju had a ‘creative discussion’ (read arguement, if you want to) on this very matter. Sanju’s people, however, say that “something like this didn’t happen and to the best of their knowledge Sanju will definitely play Munnabhai whenever the project takes off.”
